Posted : 12/3/2011 Comments : We boarded Buttons at Young's Animal Hospital in Oct. for a week, and I have to say that of all the places we've boarded him over the years, this was by far the best experience. We picked him up healthy, happy and clean(without requesting a bath). I wouldn't hesistate to board him there again. The staff was pleasant and reassuring when I called to check on Buttons, and they took very good care of him. Thanks and cudos to the kennel staff (and everybody) at Young's Animal Hospital. Posted : 11/21/2011 Comments : They have always been extremely kind and loving towards my dogs and cats. My Yorkie Sasha went to see DR. Harry Prussner went she was just a little over six weeks old. He was very gentle and explain everything to me about Sasha. At the age of two years she was bred with another Yorkie he said she might have to have a C section because she was so small. She surprise all of us and had 5 healthy pups, I took them the same day they were born to see Dr. Harry. He told me she had a another puppy in her. This puppy was dead thank goodness I always have my animals check after they have their babies. This save Sasha lives and her puppies. Dr.Denise Henry took care of my Sambo my almost 16 yr old cat. He had cancer in mouth and down his throat he lived for almost 6 weeks before I finally let him go to be with his brothers and sister who passed on before him. These two doctors are so understanding and gentle with all of my animals and me. They have so much compassion and love for animals. I got to know most of the staff and they are so compassionate with the animals as well. I have never experienced anything but alot of love and support from Young's Animal Clinic. These Dr's and staff have some tough things to deal with sick animals, animals that need alot of TLC and I am a firm believer that they are given the animals the love and care that they need as well as trying to get them healthy went they can. I have been to alot of Vet's in the Brevard County area in past 52 years and this is one of the best Animal Clinics in Brevard County. Client Name : JULIA E. Posted : 6/30/2011 Comments : I started coming to Young's after my then-foster schnauzer, Zeppelin had to go to the emergency vet in Viera. Dr. Prussner was wonderful with Zeppelin and always handles the millions of questions I ask with a great amount of patience. Since then, I have adopted Zeppelin and continue to bring all my dogs, including my new foster, Zipper to see Dr. Harry. The staff are always so wonderful to my "babies" and to me and I am so thankful to the staff & doctors! I decided to switch vets from Companion Animal Hospital because of their rave reviews. Lily's first visit went EXTREMELY well! The staff at Young's, as well as the doctors, make you feel completely comofortable and truly cared about. Lily loved the staff, but was a little weary of Dr. Henry and her white coat! (We think she may have been a bit intimidated! :)) She did growl, and was muzzled just for safety measures - she wouldn't hurt a fly, but is very protective. I came to the office with my aunt during one of her dog's visits and we were treated just as well. I was able to meet Dr. Prussner that time - he is the sweetest doctor I have ever met! Although I really like Dr. Henry, I think I may request to switch doctors. Keep up the great work! You all are amazing! Posted : 4/1/2011 Comments : I had a wonderful experience at Young's and would highly recommend their services. My 7 year old, 4lb. chihuahua had stage 4, very bad teeth and gums. I was incredibly nervous about his procedure, as I knew it would entail anesthesia and many tooth extractions. Dr. Pressner did his pre-exam on Bubby and told me the severity of his dental situation. He did blood work prior to the surgery and called me personally to say that the lab results also showed a low thyroid count. The next week, we took Bubby in at 6:30 am. Dr. Pressner came out to speak with us and assure us everything would be done to the highest standards during surgery. Around 11am, we were informed that Bubby had come out of surgery alert and well, but minus 14 teeth! We expected a toothless dog, but not such a speedy recovery. We picked him up at 4pm that day and were given an extensive follow-up care plan with pain meds and antibiotics. We took Bubby home and he was even able to eat soft food later that night and went on his usual morning walk the next day, despite having his little mouth full of stitches. A tech from the vet called the same morning "just to see how Bubby was doing." We have another chihuahua and I will most definitely take him to Young's/Dr. Pressner when it's time for his teeth-cleaning, or any other procedures. Traci Francis Posted : 11/9/2010 Comments : Dr. Robert Gordon has been taking care of our male German Shepherd Dog, McCool, for the past three years. He actually takes care of our female GSD as well (Gracie), but she does not have the many, complex health issues our male has. McCool has had health issues all his life (he is almost 8 years old now), and has been on numerous medications. It is difficult to express the gratitude I feel about the care the staff at Youngâs Animal Hospital has given our boy; especially his doctor. Dr. Gordon has the knowledge and compassion our dog needs, and deserves, and he has given us more than we can thank him for. The techs at Youngâs know McCool well, as unfortunately his is a very sick boy. There is nothing more any of us can do for him, but keep him comfortable. After taking McCool to the vet hospital at the University of Florida to see if they could fix him, there were some difficult decisions that had to be made. Dr. Gordon conversed with the doctors at UF and I feel he fought for what was best for our dog, and he continues to do so. Dr. Gordon walked us through making the best decision for our dog, but did not step in and make it for us; not an easy skill to acquire I am sure. He has treated McCool as if he were his own. Our boy is in hospice care now with us at home, but we are grateful for every day we get. The open communication and responsiveness I have personally received from Dr. Gordon is what has given us the comfort we have had during this extremely time. I have met some wonderful vets in Brevard County over the years, but not as wonderful and rounded in terms of compassion, professionalism and knowledge as Dr. Gordon. I will not take my animals anywhere else. No one except for Dr. Jennings and Dr. Prussner. I was overwhelmed at the amount of compassion Dr. Prussner and his staff showed for Beasley and out family. It's so nice to know that are still caring people in the world...ones that put the patient before the money! Thanks so much for all that you do, and for nursing our Beasley back to health. Anette Nielsen Posted : 7/3/2009 Comments : We were on vacation in FL with our dog, Chiang. He was not his usual self on the way down from Chicago (more passive, yet restless), but we thought it was an intestinal infection and so did the vet we contacted during our stay at the Keys. We had to start our journey back to Chicago after a week and that morning our dog got an antibiotic shot because the pills did not seem to work. However, he got worse that day and the following night, so we contacted Young's Animal Hospital in the morning who gave us a working appointment. When the vet first saw him, he was aware that something was definitely wrong and made him a priority. He was admitted, put in IV and Xray'ed whereby an obstruction was found in his abdomen. He had to undergo surgery and unfortunately it was a malignent tumor in the colon which had spread too much. He had to be put down. This was a very sad time for us, and I am writing this because I am afraid we were a little incoherent during our stay before he was examined as well as when he was put down. We want to convey our thanks to the hospital and its staff. We felt your love and care for animals and are grateful for that. Our dog could not have been in better hands. We also hope that the pets and their owners whose appointments were postponed were not too inconvenienced (June 12 2009). If ever you need a vet - whether during an emergency when you are on the road or in your everyday life - please do not hesitate to go to Young's. They are super professional and compassionate and have the animals' best interests at heart. I just wish I lived in Titusville if I ever decide on getting another pet. Thank you so much. I had to have Charlie Hospitalized, Dr. Luna kept me informed every day how Charlie was doing. Eventually he had to have surgery, I was allowed to visit Charlie anytime I wanted. Dr. Luna came in to see me each time, and was very comforting, and made me feel good about Charlie's progress. Charlie is now home, and doing very well. Thanks to Dr.Luna and her staff. Posted : 4/10/2008 Comments : I have two chihuahuas, JoJo who is 2 years old, and Fergie who is approaching 6 months old. I have been taking them to see Dr. Harry Pressner. Dr. Harry and Young's assistants and technicians took exceptional care of Fergie in March when she was spayed. I felt that they all really cared about Fergie and gave her tons of loving attention; as well as, tended to my concerns post surgery. Additionally, one morning I found JoJo to be acting very strangely and worried over him until I called Young's to schedule an emergency visit. I took him to the clinic prepared to sit all day until a doctor could see him! That doctor was Dr. Gordon and he and his technicians and assistants provided excellent care to JoJo and I didn't have to wait all day. :) Thanks Young's! Dr. Privette took time with me to listen to my concerns and then explain things to me. She didn't just assume what the other vet said was true. She did tests and found out that my dog had a bladder infection, low thyroid, and had 3 compressed vertebrae.
